The Artist i choose to focus on is Andy Warhol. Warhol partook in a plethora of different art forms throughout his career, including but not limited to being a central figure in the Pop Art movement, a commercial illustrator, painter, avant-garde filmmaker, author, and record producer.
Warhol portrayed things he loved and that held significance to him, such as celebrities and everyday objects presented in the most literal way. In some of his later works he he began to portray images of death and personal tragedies. His reasoning behind this was to transform these issues of tragedy into public spectacles and incorporate them into the media; to get people talking. In more respects than one Warhol redefined what it meant to be an artist, taking over both roles of being a producer and creator.
